Brown Spider Monkeys
Competition
-
Competition: the fight between organisms of the same or different species for vital resources such as food, water, shelter, mates, etc.
-
Interspecific competition: competition between organisms of different species
-
Example: My species have competition with the macaw because we survive off of the same foods, but because of their wings they travel longer distances to find food.
-
Intraspecific competition: competition between organisms of the same species
-
Example: I sometimes compete for food, water, shelter, and mates within my own species because of our decreasing habitat. We divide into smaller groups of 2-4 when searching for food to lower competition.
